Dyslexia – Classroom Approaches

At earlywormsolutions we are happy to build specific staff in-service modules to requirement. We also offer the following as examples of what we do.

The most important issue facing any school staff is how to enable young people to access the curriculum to best advantage. Specific Learning Difficulties can make school progress difficult and sometimes impossible. For many, efficient management of the inclusive classroom is made more difficult because the resources needed to work with children who have learning difficulties are not always available or put to best advantage. In this course, Dot and Patrick Webb look at ways of presenting the curriculum to the dyslexic learner and challenge common misconceptions on Dyslexia.

This two day workshop is a mixture of practical activities, whole group discussion, and team challenge work designed to focus on the relationships and roles in the EBD setting and understanding of the communication processes necessary to create good ‘Working Together’ schools.

It is led by Patrick Webb and Grahame Freeburn. Patrick has a successful history as both teacher and Headteacher in SEBD Schools. He was awarded an OBE in 2005 for his contribution to SEN. He has many years of practical experience working with SEBD children and families and staff groups.

He is currently the lead consultant for SEBD at earlywormsolutions Ltd and was formerly General Secretary of SEBDA the social, emotional and behaviour difficulties association in Great Britain.
