Dyslexia – Classroom Approaches

At earlyworm we are happy to build specific staff in-service modules to requirement. We also offer the following as examples of what we do.

The most important issue facing any school staff is how to enable young people to access the curriculum to best advantage. Specific Learning Difficulties can make school progress difficult and sometimes impossible. For many, efficient management of the inclusive classroom is made more difficult because the resources needed to work with children who have learning difficulties are not always available or put to best advantage.

In this course, Dot and Patrick Webb look at ways of presenting the curriculum to the dyslexic learner.

Patrick Webb has been a Headteacher and Behaviour Management specialist for many years. He was awarded the OBE for services to SEN, and has worked in the mainstream as well as Special Schools.

This organisation - tailored course is designed to bring multi-professional teams together with a common goal orientated work ethic.

The day or two days is a mixture of practical workshop activities, whole group discussion, and team challenge work designed to focus on the relationships and roles in the EBD setting and understanding of the communication processes necessary to create good ‘Working Together’ schools.

It is led by Patrick Webb who has a long history as both teacher and Headteacher in EBD Schools. He was awarded an OBE in 2005 for his contribution to SEN . He has many years experience working with EBD children and families and has led staff groups of up to 120 .He is currently the lead consultant for SEBD at earlywormsolutions Ltd and General Secretary of SEBDA the emotional and behaviour association in Great Britain.
